Her-story

The Context

Immersed in a world of mystery and alchemy, Merryn is fascinated by how life experiences are etched into our tissues and the body’s architecture, through the lens of the mind and emotions. How we feel is how we see, and our perception can sculpt how we move through life. An introverted hermit at heart, much of life is explored through the inner sanctum of the somatic body-mind-heart connections. Merryn’s entire life has been invested in how nature and the body interact, interconnect and relate to one another. The belief that our bodies are our most valuable asset has driven Merryn on a life long quest to educate, explore and experience this phenomenal vessel that we call home.

This heart fueled path of awakening and deepening has lead Merryn to the devotional path of teaching human ecology, cellular psychology and movement based modalities. Her joyful nature and innovative spark creatives a captivating and playful environment for learning and evolving.

Merryn now spends her dharma time teaching zenthai, specialised SE workshops, fascia movement classes and supporting clients with zenthai and integrative bodywork. Outside of serving community, she is one with nature and self; gardening, on walk about, moving, playing, dancing, sitting in silence and listening.

HER-STORY

Born into a family of healers, naturists, scholars and health educators, Merryn has been surrounded by loved ones who know the way of natural healing and healthy living. Her inspirational guardians taught the way of care and consideration and spiritual healing practices. Merryn remembers from an early age being fed bitter boiled up Chinese herbs, having pulse diagnosis whenever health diminished, receiving acupuncture from her uncle and practicing yoga and qi gong before school.

Before and after school meant time in the garden, bamboo forest or playing sport. Merryn has always loved getting her hands dirty, exploring creatures in nature and getting lost in the world of her senses.

Over the years, Merryn’s focus turned towards sports, athleticism and competing. Dancing, swimming, soccer and inline hockey, led her to source professionals of osteopathy, massage, acupuncture and exercise prescription. This is where all the her worlds started to merge; movement, mobility, energy, desire and happiness. This is where her joy was amplified; living amongst nature, gaining support by loved ones and testing the body-mind capacities through physical exertion.

After completing the Diploma of Health Science in Massage Therapy at 18 years old, Merryn practiced in her uncle’s Natural Therapies Clinic in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. Many qualifications, studies, clinics, contracts and projects later, her focus is now about empowering other Therapists with innovative skills and knowledge to support others to heal.
